First Lady Michelle Obama to deliver Dillard University commencement address (1164 hits)
First Lady Michelle Obama will deliver the commencement address at Dillard University on May 10, the university and The White House announced Thursday.
Mrs. Obama will speak at the spring commencement for 243 students of Dillard University’s class of 2014.
Her most recent visit to New Orleans was last summer, when she spoke at the National Council of La Raza conference.
Among the other commencement speeches she will deliver this year are to an assembly of high schools in Topeka, Kansas and a college access program in the District of Columbia, The White House said.
"All of these institutions are supporting the First Lady''s higher education initiative and doing their part to answer the President's call to ensure that by the year 2020, America once again has the highest proportion of college graduates in the world," The White House statement said.
