I know that when blacks use the terms brotha/sista towards one another it's basically saying "we as blacks are all family, but people just use them just to use them.

it's just like all of these words.

Etc.

People just use them as greetings & it's like when ppl text lol at the end of every sentence even tho nothings really funny. So yeah they don't actually mean it in the context in which they use it in but I get where you're coming from.
