If Dr. Martin Luther King was alive today, he would be embarrassed ! (756 hits)
Yes we have more opportunity afforded us once we chose to seize it. Many of us recognize our ability to rise above our struggles. We are vision driven and successful in many areas. We are education driven with positive role models. We are successful, spiritual, wealthy Black America. On the flip side of the coin the struggle within some of us is still dormant.
Society has crutched our spirits and we cant let go anger within our innermost being. Government has given us a hand-out a crutch which has become a lifestyle. As a result of generational curses and neglect crime has risen to even greater heights But more importantly, many have been discouraged so deeply that they are imprisoned physically and spiritually. Struggles stemming from generational curses. Struggles with angry blaming others attitude for our misfortune. Struggle with choices for higher education / financial struggles. Struggles with information on obtaining and knowing for owning our own business. Struggles with a lack of a Spiritual Life fallen Ministers/Priests.
In spite of all the struggles, I, Annvernette Graham, see Black America the way God has ordained us to be FREE and SUCCESSFUL back to the basics of life worshipping Jesus. Today, so many other cultures have infiltrated our society with their diseased thinking and way of life that its contagious to those with no shield of protection no spiritual life and now many are out of control. Violence and disease are at an all time high which I believe is as a result of choices and lack of spiritualism thereof.
If Dr. Martin Luther King was alive today, he would be embarrassed however, his death is not in vain which is why I am able to send this message. I have opportunity that was not afforded me without his dream. I and many other Black Americans are living out his dream this day. Though Soledads focus on the recent documentary was based on our struggles, our discussions were based on our successes. We may not have arrived to where our visions take us, but Thank God we are no longer where we use to be. Now we are goal driven by a desire to excel in spite of circumstances around us. Others choose what they have learned out of fear and no vision. Today I see more Christians rising up and coming out of the closets with the shield and sword the Word of God. Our confession is Jesus is Lord over all manner of people we are His chosen generation and we are taking back our people.
Annvernette Graham sat down with Soledad OBrien, Anchor and Special Correspondent for CNN, in an interview regarding her views on Blacks in America today 40 years after the death of Dr. Martin Luther King. Much of her talk was regarding our struggles before his death and has it changed any. Her answer was two fold: you just read it !
