Scientists in Russia have taken a seedling that was possibly buried by squirrels over 30,000 years ago and brought the seedling to life. The Silene stenophylla plants grows in the corner of a Russian lab thriving with blooms. The seeds from in suspended animation by the freezing cold conditions which served as a "frozen gene pool" . Scientist feel this may be a breakthrough for some early life forms which have long vanished from the earth's surface. Under magnification the ancient plant showed to have bore fruit and with white blooms. The seedling was discover in a Siberian permafrost.
