BRRR............... * Residents of Cordova, Alaska are not surprised by snow at any given day, but when it snows for days and days the snow can become "BIG"! At least 18 feet of snow has given the little township of Cordova a dubbed name of a "Big Snowy Town." Residents are wrestling with tall snow mounds which has covered the streets, cars, homes and everything else in pure white snowflakes packed and bundled into a giant snow mound. * Help from the national guard has arrived to help shovel snow and give the people living there some extra arms to help in the shoveling. Everywhere you look there's the big snow. * This snow has broken records for the small village, yet inspired residents have managed to keep in good and cool spirited handling the weather forecasting snow * everyday. There is more snow predicted, and danger of avalances remain to be watched. * * "I don't think they are wanting to build a snowman" Frosty, you'd better stay away from Cordova, you might get torn down with a shovel! * "That's snowcredible!!!" * *
All of those ski resorts here in northern Ca. would love to have this happening to them right now. "I" have lived here for over 30 yrs. and this is the first time I have looked out and not seen any snow on those Sierra mountians. I am hundreds of miles from the mountians but I can see from three sides of where I live the mountian tops.(smile)
