Tasha Smith tells Essence how Tyler Perry, God changed her life (389 hits)

By Clutch Magazine
Tasha Smith, the brazen star of Tyler Perry's hit film franchise Why Did I Get Married? snagged the December cover of Essence magazine.

Smith, who's been grinding in the entertainment business for years, opens up about her faith, love, and how Tyler Perry (and healthy doses of hard work and determination) changed her life.

In the cover story, "Diary of a Happy Black Woman," Smith tells Essence: "All those years ago, I was a girl with this dream, but with no education, no confidence, no self-esteem, nothing. And now God has brought me to this place of destiny, and He's not even done with me yet..."

Smith is gearing up for the November 25 premiere of her new show Tyler Perry's For Better or Worse in which she revives her popular character from Perry's Why Did I Get Married?.
