Plane Crash Survivor Holds Free Concert for Neighbors (1039 hits)

A Sanford man who lost his wife and baby son in a plane crash in 2008 said thank you to his community for all their support with a free concert Friday.

About 1,000 people attended the concert at the Bob Carr Theater, WESH 2 News reported.

Joe Woodard took to the stage Friday night and choked up while he thanked the community for their support in his time of tragedy.

Music is a passion the couple shared together before the plane crashed into their home, killing Janise, 24, and their 6-month-old son.

After the crash, Woodard started Jurnee Productions, a music business named after his surviving daughter.
