Keep in mind this is not necessarily a post of a s*xual nature. My point is we all may have our differences in who and what we know/believe love is, yet this is no reason to be personal toward one another at least we all agree that God is love.
Brothers, you are welcome to share your thoughts also. Thank you in advance.
Unconditional love to me means that the love is not based on anything outer or superficial; such as looks, money or titles. But I am not talking about the kind of 'unconditional love' that many people think they are expressing when they accept abuse. So there are 'conditions' before you should even think of giving your love; which again are that freedom, justice and equality have to be present between the two people in question.
3. How do you know when you are in love?
When I connect emotionally, mentally, physically and spiritually with another person, on the basis of the concepts of freedom, justice and equality.
4. Does love keep a record of wrong?
No. Which does not mean that wrongs should just be forgotton; they need to be looked at, discussed and corrected (healed) and forgiven.
5. Is love slow to anger?
Yes. Again - which does not mean there is no anger - but all anger stems from our own dysfunctional emotional life - so again it would need to be addressed and healed.
6. Is love an emotion?
No. Love in itself is not an emotion, but emotions are part of love as they are simply a part of being alive and a hueman being.
7. Is love earned?
Love is given freely; but again - on the conditions of CARE, COMPASSION, and COMPLIMENT being present. It is not so that we all simply 'deserve love' no matter how bad we act. There is no progress without struggle - and that goes for love aswell. It is not about finding the 'right' person it is about being the right person.
8. Is love controlling?
No. Love includes the freedom to be who you are. Any need to control is based on the insecurity of both the controller - and the one who allows for control.
9. Is love possessive?
No. When love is based on CARE, COMPASSION, and COMPLIMENT there is no need for possessiveness.
Well, it will be interesting to see who takes the time to respond.
And I think it will be interesting to read what folks write.
Here goes:
1. What is the meaning of love to you?
To me, love is giving somebody or something my total and undivided attention. That means even if I am doing the dishes or folding the laundry. The other day I caught myself doing our weekly wash. And why? Only one reason. I would never do it if it was only me living here. I was doing it out of love for my woman.
2. What does unconditional love mean to you?
It means just what it says. It means, no matter what, you give yourself totally. You don't have to agree. You don't have to like everything your partner does. You can even get hopping mad once in a while. But even so, even through it all, you know you love her.
3. How do you know when you are in love?
Here is my test. When you and your friend (and I use that word purposely) can be together and just enjoy each other's presence and neither one of you has to say a word. You don't have to do anything or say anything. There are no obligations or responsibilities. You are just there for each other and both of you know it.
4. Does love keep a record of wrong?
Well, my wife does. And by now, after forty years, there's enough in there to fill up the New YOrk City telephone book. Me, on the other hand, I can't remember one single thing she's ever done wrong.
5. Is love slow to anger?
Slow--but when it comes, it is like an atomic bomb.
6. Is love an emotion?
I don't believe it is an emotion that ebbs and flows, turns on and off. Happiness is an emotion. So is sadness. They come and go. But love, in my opinion, is like a steady calm beacon of light that does not flicker in the wind. Love never changes.
7. Is love earned?
If you have to EARN love, then its not love. It is approval. No way. Love can't be earned because it is given unconditionally. As soon as you put a reqwuirement on it, it is something else--but it ain't love.
8. Is love controlling?
You can't control love. Just like you can't control the sunlight. Oh, you can cover up or run indoors to get away from it. But you can't do anything about the sun. It shines no matter what.
Love is a power unto itself. It defies control Anyone who tries to control the person they love creates a dependency. It is an unequal situation. You have a power struggle. That is a recipe for war. That's not love.
9. Is love possessive?
Can anyone possess the light? Try it.
10. How can love conquer all?
Anyone who has ever had to conquer an obstacle after a great struggle, it happened because of love. It may have beebn love for an idea. Harriet Tubman loved freedom and she loved freedom for her family and her people. So she conquered every obstacle in her path, was willing to take monumental risks because of her love for freedom.
And I agree. God is love. It says so in the Bible.
BELOVED, LET US LOVE ONE ANOTHER. FOR LOVE IS OF GOD AND EVERY ONE THAT LOVES IS BORN OF GOD AND KNOWS GOD. FOR GOD IS LOVE. 1 JOHN 4: 7-8

Peace Sis! Below are my 2 cents:
1. What is the meaning of love to you? Love is a universal understanding that only the righteous abide by willingly. When you and others feel comfortable to be themselves and they feel that you are genuine in your concerns and they can count on you, and you tell them what they NEED to hear not what they WANT no matter how harsh the feedback is.
2. What does unconditional love mean to you? True Loves always has conditions which are based on the attributes of Allah (God) being present and active. Once the conditions of the attributes of Allah (God) ceases to be present, true love ceases to exist. Therefore, the condition for love must have an attribute of mercy..etc...
3. How do you know when you are in love? When there is the best part between me and my queen (wife). The best part is an understanding. Understanding is the best part of Knowledge and Wisdom. It's born through Knowledge - Wisdom.
4. Does love keep a record of wrong? In true love, as our Queen Nikki Giovanni says, " Even your errors are correct." (LOL)
5. Is love slow to anger? True Love is angered only by the action, not the person
6. Is love an emotion? True love inspires emotion
7. Is love earned? True Love is the nature in which we were created
8. Is love controlling? To whom much is given, much is required
9. Is love possessive? Only during times of danger and caution; True Love promotes freedom.
10. How can love conquer all? Whatever possesses us, if we "Accept Our Own, (nature in which we were created in True Love) and "Be Ourselves" whatever has undo dominion over us, or undo foreign influence on us will be dispelled or conquered.
