Will our pride go before our destruction in this day and time? (2033 hits)
The Brother Marcus Internet Radio Show continues with part four of our series on what is commonly known as the “Seven Deadly Sins”. This weekend we want to take a look at pride which is considered the original and most serious of the seven deadly sins and is cited as the ultimate source from which the other six arise. Pride is defined as a high or inordinate opinion of one's own dignity, importance, merit or superiority. Whether this is cherished in the mind or expressed openly by our bearing or conduct, makes no difference. Some of the questions we will attempt to answer on our show will include: Whether it is totally wrong to be proud of ourselves? We want to explore what happens to the human mind once it is beset with pride? Why does our education, positions, talents, skills, abilities, cars, clothes, money, homes and other assorted possessions so often cause us to become puffed up and big with pride? Are we humble enough to stand critique from anyone? Are we paying lip service to God and even feigning humility, while in reality, our hearts are a boiling cauldron of false pride? Will the Creator allow things to come into our lives to humble us down from a proud position? When does pride become self-blinding false pride? Could we all stand a strong dose of humility in our lives in 2009?
