Was Former NBA Star Jayson Williams Suicidal when Police Tasered Him? (250 hits)
(Taylor Media Services) Former basketball star Jayson Williams was rushed for medical treatment last week after reportedly acting suicidal and being tasered by police when he allegedly resisted their attempts to take him to a hospital. The incident took place around four o’clock in the morning at lower Manhattan’s posh Battery Park City hotel. A female friend is said to have called police saying the 6-foot-10, 325 pound Williams was drunk, agitated and talking of suicide.
However, as the week progressed, Williams’ manager and lawyer attempted to play down the incident saying that Williams was doing fine. Attorney Joe Hayden issued a statement saying he had “no knowledge of a suicide attempt’ and that Williams had been treated at St. Vincent’s Hospital for what he would only describe as “a medical condition.” The 41-year-old Williams retired from the NBA in 2000 after playing nine seasons for the New York Nets and the Philadelphia 76ers.
Corey, I don't think a good woman can help him until he does his soul searching first. I'm sure the trial took a toll on his psyche so he probably can definitely use some professional help before he gets himself killed or he kills himself. My heart and prayers go out to the brother.
