(Taylor Media Services) Grammy-nominated Gospel singer Pastor Timothy Wright died last week apparently as a result of complications from an automobile accident in July of last year which took the lives of his wife Betty, 58, and 14-year-old grandson D.J. The singer and writer was 61.
Wright was known for upbeat, inspirational songs. He had composed tunes for a host of Gospel stars including Mattie Moss Clark and Rev. Isaac Douglas. Wright was also fond of using mass choirs in his compositions. Perhaps his most popular Gospel composition was his 1994 “Come Thou Almighty God” performed with the New York Fellowship Mass Choir. Most of Wright’s career was spent in the New York area. The accident took place in Pennsylvania.
