From a White Senator in Virginia: Our Prison system is Broken
Politicians rarely speak honestly about the realities of our broken criminal justice system, for fear of appearing "soft on crime." But Senator Jim Webb from Virginia has just proposed a new law that will examine our criminal justice system from top to bottom and propose sweeping, systemic reforms.
Opportunities like this rarely appear--and Sen. Webb will need all the help he can get to ensure that reform actually happens. Please take a second to thank Jim Webb for his bold leadership and let him know that you'll stand with him in the fight for a fair, effective criminal justice system.
And when you do, please ask your friends and family to do the same.

I have been waiting for a long time for and official to speak about this issue. I just didn't think that he would be white. Unfortunately I live in Illinois where alot of african american young men have been rail roaded by bad cops. No black official , especially in chicago will even touch it. We need alot of the leaders here in Chicago to speak out against police corruption, I have alot of thoughts about why official are not stepping up, but I will wait to get a response from readers on what I have already said. Thanks
