You know they say, "out of the mouths of babes". This past week, the Princess (my 7 year old) was playing around with her Zune, which happened to be mine before I got the big, pretty new red one for Christmas.
Her Zune 4 GB is small and pink with a lovely pink cover that I purchased to protect it from getting scratched up in my purse. I've had the cover on it for the past 2 years or so, never really taking it off for fear that it would get damaged in some way. Maybe I just never even thought about it. Perhaps it was one of those things I've just overlooked.
One day, from the back seat of the car I hear, "Mom, this is so pretty. I never knew how nice this is until I took the cover off." I looked at her and saw this shiny, almost brand new looking MP3 player. It was like I had seen it for the very first time.
It got me thinking about other things that need to have a cover off. Like certain talents I've had covered up for years, things I've wanted to do, places I've wanted to see. I started thinking of a number of things that need to be revealed again & how much easier it would be if I just take a look at it again.
You fill in the blanks for yourself - what have you covered up that needs to be looked at once again, in all its shiny "newness"? This week, I took off the nice protective cover for my red Zune player. Even if it gets scratched up a bit, I kind of like how pretty it is & it reminds me every day why I bought it.
