Refuse Those Same, Old Tired Conversations (337 hits)

The new McDonald's bill board sign "Four bucks is dumb," is the latest round between the Starbucks and McDonald's coffee war. Approximately 140 billboards insulting Starbucks have gone up in Washington State.

The response from Starbucks? "We're not going to get into that conversation," says Chief Marketing Officer Terry Davenport to investors. "We're not going to get sucked into the, 'My coffee is better than your coffee,' price-point type of coffee conversation. We're going to play at a much higher level."

Heed theTip

Yes, the economy is bad. Yes, prices are up. Yes, the cost of living has skyrocketed. Yes, there are crooked politicians. However, these are all topics of conversations that bring you down. Engaging in them with others is not helpful to your state of mind. They will not help, or change your life. In fact, these conversations do the opposite. They attract more lack and limitation to you because of mounting anxieties.

So, when you are at the next Holiday party, at lunch with co-workers, or on the phone with family and friends, and you find yourself engaged in these kinds of conversations, change the subject to something positive. Remember you are light, so lift others out of darkness.

Take a tip from Starbucks. In fact, every time you see a Starbucks, let that be a signal to ask yourself. "Am I having a conversation with myself about how bad the world appears?" These internal conversations are worse than having them with others.

An alternative solution when you think about the grim state of the world, is to have a conversation with your higher self. Pray. That's playing on a higher level, and having the best conversation of all.

Love, Light and Blessings,
Janet
