MEANINGFUL WORK AND PERSONAL IMPACT: As a Network Administrator Sr Principal/IAC Engineer, the work youll do at GDIT will be impactful to the mission of USSTRATCOM. USSTRATCOM is a Combatant Command responsible for strategic deterrence, nuclear operations, and enterprise IT services essential to national security. It oversees Nuclear Command, Control, and Communications (NC3), Joint Electromagnetic Spectrum Operations (JEMSO), Global Strike, and Missile Threat Assessments, working closely with other Combatant Commands, Services, and defense agencies. SCITLS will be a key component that will ensure mission success and the safety of the U.S. and its allies by providing 24/7 IT services and network support for NIPRNet, SIPRNet, JWICS, and SAP/SAR environment. You will play a crucial role in providing support in the following areas:Lead the development and implementation of software defined initiatives. Provide subject matter expertise with the knowledge of processes and procedures related to the development and transition to cloud, hybrid-cloud, and multiple CSPs. Execute and support the adoption, operational transition, and Tier 3 support of all USSTRATCOM Cloud Services, tools, applications, and supporting services (i.e., storage, authentication, DNS, IPAM, certificate authority, software, and Operating System (OS) patching) across all CSP and Impact Level (IL) environments. Use tools like Terraform, Ansible, Chef, or CloudFormation to write code that defines infrastructure components like servers, databases, networks, and security groups. Store infrastructure code in a version control system to track changes, enable rollbacks, and collaborate with other engineers. Test infrastructure code changes in staging environments to ensure they function as expected. Monitor the performance and health of deployed infrastructure, identifies potential bottlenecks, and optimizes configurations for efficiency.
