NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is a 306-bed medical center, providing care to residents of eastern Long Island. The hospital facility is home to the Knapp Cardiac Care Center—an advanced heart disease diagnostic and treatment facility—as well as a modern ambulatory surgical pavilion with specialized services including women's imaging, a sleep laboratory, and bariatric surgery. Our Provisional Level 2 Trauma Center delivers comprehensive and specialized care for patients with traumatic injuries. The Stroke Center at NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk is designated by the New York State Department of Health as a Primary Stroke Center, with expert neurologists available to provide treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Additionally, NYU Langone Hospital—Suffolk has multiple outpatient sites, including an outpatient wound care center, a hemodialysis center, and various primary care and specialty offices.

We are looking for candidates for the following roles:
Registered Nurse:
To qualify you must have a Professional knowledge of nursing theory and practice acquired through completion of a two year training at an accredited School of Nursing. Current New York State license as a Registered Professional Nurse. BLS certification and de-escalation training. ACLS (ICU, Float pool, Emergency Dept). TCAR Certification (SICU, PACU). For Emergency Dept: PALS, TNCC (within first year). *BLS, ACLS, PALS must be through AHA*

Nurse Aide:
To qualify you must have a High School diploma or GED. BLS certification (AHA only), and first aid training. De-escalation training on job. EMT certificate or prior hospital/sub-acute experience or be a nursing student. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with patients and their families that demonstrate recognition of cultural diversity. Basic analytical skills in order to gather data, complete comparisons, interpret and report outcomes to the nurse or document on the medical record. Must have excellent customer service and telephone skills. Ability to manage and perform multiple tasks simultaneously.

Unit Secretary:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and write at a level normally acquired through completion of high school to complete order entry, comprehension of written or verbal instructions, order transcription and medical record maintenance. Interpersonal skills necessary to effectively interact with hospital personnel, medical staff, and patients or family. Basic analytical skills necessary in order to gather and interpret routine data, maintain records, and organize workload. Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail to complete required services in accordance with established schedules and deadlines.

Cardiac Monitor Tech:
To qualify you must have a High School Diploma or GED. Ability to read and write in order to obtain and record pertinent information in patient charts and to perform noncomplex arithmetic calculations as normally acquired through completion of high school. Knowledge of medical terminology and physical sciences. Basic analytical skills in order to recognize abnormal heart rhythms or artifact in test data and to notify appropriate personnel. Requires a passing grade of 85% on the Dysrhythmia Proficiency Exam.
