Job Description The University of Notre Dame Police Department (NDPD) is seeking highly motivated individuals with excellent communication skills who want to work in a positive team atmosphere. Currently Certified Law Enforcement Officers are preferred, however applicants meeting the minimum requirements will also be considered.
The Notre Dame Police Department is a full-service police department recognized by the State of Indiana with the authority to enforce Indiana State Laws, make arrests, and conduct criminal investigations.

Additional Details: Applicants considered for hire will be required to participate in but not limited to interviews, background investigations, psychological evaluations and drug screening. Non-certified applicants considered for hire will be required but not limited to the above including written comprehension testing as well as a physical agility test that mirrors the State of Indiana's testing process. If hired, non-certified persons will be required to attend and successfully pass the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy Tier 1 course.
Ability to communicate effectively with various constituencies
Ability to supervise and adapt to rapidly changing situations, making appropriate decisions under stressful circumstances
Must maintain strong customer service focus even in difficult policing situations
Must meet minimum standards regarding acceptance for training by the Indiana Law Enforcement Training Board as specified in Indiana Administrative Code Title 250 Rule 3
Preferred Qualifications:
College Degree
Tier I Certified Police Officer or the equivalent
Additional Information Starting Rate: $31.50/hr
