Position Title: Graduate Assistant, Athletic Communications Reporting To: Sports Information Director and Athletic Director
Hours per week: 20 hours a week
Stipend/Benefits: Tuition waived up to 24 credits & $1000 stipend for the academic year
Role Summary The Graduate Assistant will provide support to the Athletics Communications Department. This role is designed to provide the student with professional experience in a higher education setting while supporting the operational goals of the department. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who can balance their academic workload with the assigned duties.
Qualifications Primary Responsibilities
Attending home events for our 18 Athletic Programs
Input/calling stats for games
Help with the camera and videoing games when necessary
Scoreboard operations
Update website in a timely manner (rosters, schedules)
Keep accurate records of teams
Writing and distributing press releases
Creating graphics/video content to update on social media.
Preparing announcer scripts and gameday notes for broadcasters
Taking photos for media day
Assist with special events such as Athletics Falcon Fest, Hall of Fame, etc.
Eligibility & Requirements
Enrollment: Must be currently accepted in a Master's program at Albertus Magnus College in one of the following areas:
Accounting (only two spots available)
Business Administration
Criminal Justice
Management and Organizational Leadership
Healthcare Administration (only two spots available)
Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe programs and Canva
Learning Outcomes (The "Value Add")
