Job Summary The Maintenance Engineer provides technical and engineering support to maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment and facilities operate safely and efficiently. This role focuses on troubleshooting, equipment improvements, and maintenance effectiveness. A key emphasis of the position is improving Mean Time To Repair (MTTR) through technician coaching, hands-on support, and continuous improvement of repair practices.
Essential Job Functions
Ensure maintenance activities comply with safety policies and regulatory requirements
Participate in safety reviews, risk assessments, and permit processes
Provide hands-on engineering support for mechanical, electrical, and process equipment
Review and improve maintenance procedures and work instructions
Identify technical skill gaps and support development plans through training and knowledge sharing
Support cross-training efforts to increase flexibility across equipment types
Assist with installation and commissioning of new equipment
Evaluate equipment performance and recommend practical, field-driven improvements
Update equipment records and asset information within the CMMS
Develop and revise maintenance job plans and standard work instructions
Lead and support root cause analysis to develop and execute effective countermeasures (BDA, OEE).
Work closely with Maintenance Supervisors, Planners, and Operations personnel
Coordinate repair timing and downtime with production teams
A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or related Engineering field, or equivalent work experience.
2–5 years in industrial maintenance, manufacturing, or engineering support roles.
Experience supporting equipment repairs, installations, or plant improvement projects.
Familiarity with CMMS systems preferred.
Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Strong troubleshooting and practical problem-solving skills.
Clear communication and teamwork skills.
Organized and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
