GRCC's Manufacturing Department is seeking an adjunct instructor in Polymer Technology. Candidates must possess an interest in working with diverse student populations from a wide range of age, ethnicity, national origin and ability; engage in and develop innovative teaching strategies and effectively assess student learning outcomes. Adjunct faculty members are responsible to GRCC and to each other for the successful completion of departmental work as well as work associated with the School of Business and Industry and GRCC as a whole. In an environment where innovation is valued, each adjunct faculty member will take responsibility to perform their work in a manner consistent with both the letter and the spirit of GRCC values.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Teach GRCC course offering(s) in MN 219 Survey of Polymer Technology in the Manufacturing Department.
Teach courses and fulfill adjunct faculty responsibilities, including fostering a stimulating classroom environment, following syllabus templates, and using department-approved textbooks.
Maintain accurate student records and provide reasonable accommodations as per ADA guidelines as approved by Disability Support Services to meet student's needs.
Respond to communications promptly and ensure student access to course information.
Perform tasks normally expected of adjunct faculty members
Follow the required syllabus template.
Comply with GRCC policies and the Faculty Association Contract.
JOB SPECIFICATIONS
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution required.
A minimum of 4000 hours industry experience
Master's degree in a related field preferred.
Skills
Proficiency in thermoplastic and thermosetting polymers, as well as the physical and chemical behaviors of plastics within their applications
Expertise in the subject area with strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work with diverse student populations and faculty, and proficiency in instructional technology and learning management systems (e.g.,Gmail, Canvas, Google Workspace).
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Physical Demands
Some evening work outside of the scheduled class will be required. (grading, preparing for class, responding to email questions)
Must be able to sit or stand for long periods of time.
