Windows Linux Systems Administrator - TS/SCI with Polygraph

General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is looking for a skilled IT Systems Administrator with experience in Microsoft enterprise environments to support a critical Federal Intelligence Agency contract. This is an excellent opportunity to work alongside a highly skilled technical team in a dynamic and mission-focused environment.

In this role, youll provide Tier II support and systems administration across multiple large-scale Microsoft-based networks spanning several secure environments. The infrastructure consists of a hybrid mix of Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform administrative support for both Windows and Linux environments on physical systems and virtual desktops (EVDI).

  • Troubleshoot system and application issues, including performance degradation and crashes.

  • Investigate and resolve user performance concerns; collaborate with other teams to enhance the end-user experience.

  • Provide Tier II support and resolution for incident tickets related to Windows and Linux-based applications.

  • Offer remote desktop support to end users.

  • Analyze and resolve system incidents with both immediate workarounds and long-term fixes.

  • Respond to and manage escalated service desk tickets.

  • Communicate clearly with team members and stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.

  • Participate in special projects and respond to security incidents as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, OR equivalent combination of education and experience (including military service).

  • 3+ years of relevant systems administration experience.

  • Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph is required.

  • Must have a current DoD 8570 IA certification (e.g., CompTIA Security+ CE, SSCP, or CCNA-Security). Security+ CE is preferred.

  • Must obtain required DoD 8570 Computing Environment (CE) certification within 6 months of hire.

Required Technical Skills & Experience:

  • Active Directory administration

  • DNS, DHCP, DFS, and LDAP

  • Windows 10, Server 2012, Server 2016

  • Troubleshooting common business applications (e.g., Outlook, Excel, Word, Java, Internet Explorer)

  • Linux system administration

  • Familiarity with ticketing systems such as ServiceNow or NETS

  • ITIL v3 certification or higher

Preferred (Nice to Have):

  • Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM)

  • PowerShell scripting

  • Experience with virtualization tools such as VMware and Citrix

  • VMware User Experience Management (UEM)

  • Microsoft Exchange administration

  • Experience with voice/video systems

  • Networking fundamentals

  • Familiarity with customer mission environments
