ABOUT THE POSITION
Site/Civil Engineering Project Manager | Watertown or Boston, MA locations | Hybrid
VHB’s Land Engineering team is looking to add a Site Civil Engineering Project Manager to join their Watertown or Boston, MA office. The team specializes in land development with a multidisciplinary approach including civil engineering, environmental services, planning, surveying, and transportation. VHB delivers comprehensive solutions from site assessment and feasibility studies to permitting, design, and construction administration. They focus on sustainable development in residential, commercial, mixed-use, and public infrastructure projects. Using innovative technology and local knowledge, VHB ensures efficient, responsible project delivery that meets regulatory and community needs, enhancing the built environment. Notable recent work includes major area “mega projects” such as Suffolk Downs, Dorchester Bay City, Cambridge Crossing, Allston Yards, 776 Summer Street, and other large mixed-use districts that transform underutilized industrial areas into resilient, transit-oriented neighborhoods with thousands of housing units, public open space, and upgraded infrastructure. Responsibilities
Manage work and development of Land Engineering projects and staff
Develop and support new project opportunities and manage proposal submissions
Responsible for project financial performance and client relations
Develop site/civil engineering plans and specifications for a multitude of projects
Support preparation of land development design and permitting documents
Civil engineering for retail, residential, institutional, renewable energy and industrial site design including grading and drainage design, utility design, and site design/layout
Preparation of schematic design, design development, and construction contract documentation
Assist in the preparation of permitting, design and construction documents
Attend meetings with clients, regulatory agencies, and stakeholders to establish their needs and discuss design/permitting issues
Supervise design team activities during Construction Administration
Skills and Abilities
Proficient in site layout, grading, utility design and stormwater management
Knowledge of local and State regulations governing site design preferred
Ability to think critically and creatively in a team-focused environment
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
AutoCAD, HydroCAD, and StormCAD proficiency preferred
Qualifications
BS in Civil Engineering or related degree required.
MS preferred (may be substituted for 2 years relevant work experience)
8-11+ years of professional site/civil engineering required
PE licensure required
Our best estimate of the salary range for this position located in Boston/Watertown, MA is $120,000-160,000. The final compensation will be based on a variety of factors such as individual qualifications, education, and experience.
