Job Description Summary

In this role, you will provide strategic and tactical HR support, serving as an internal consultant to leadership on key business and people-related matters. You will proactively assess and anticipate employee and organizational needs, offering practical, solutions focused guidance while supporting major people initiatives and operational efficiencies.
You will coach leaders through complex employee relations issues—including performance management, corrective action, and terminations—while helping to reinforce a positive culture and strong morale. You will identify people trends, recommend actions, and support training and development needs through effective program planning and coordination. The role also includes advising leaders on compensation practices and serving as a change agent for people-focused initiatives.
The People Operations Partner plays an active role in shaping and implementing HR strategies in partnership with division leaders and employees. This position reports to the Sr. People Operations Manager.
This role is based at our corporate office in Scottsdale, AZ and requires on-site attendance.

Partner with business, functional, and Division President–level leaders to understand priorities, address challenges, and align on action plans .
Partner closely with leaders to understand key priorities, challenges, and organizational needs, aligning on action plans and strategic people‑focused solutions.
Maintain strong business acumen, including knowledge of the company, industry, financial drivers, organizational culture, and competitive landscape.
Build strong relationships with leaders and employees to strengthen workplace culture, increase engagement, and support productivity and retention.
Collaborate with People Services partners and Centers of Excellence (Talent, Total Rewards, Learning & Development, Staffing) to effectively implement programs such as succession planning, performance calibration, development planning, assessments, engagement survey follow‑up, staffing strategies, and leadership development.
Support the integration and optimization of people‑related processes and tools within Workday to enhance the employee and leader experience.
Partner with leaders on core people initiatives including engagement action planning, performance management, merit processes, and bonus communication.
Analyze people trends and metrics in partnership with the People Services Director to inform business decisions and identify opportunities for improvement.
Work with leaders to anticipate workforce needs and ensure alignment with division goals.
Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues, conducting thorough, objective investigations and providing sound recommendations.
Provide clear guidance on People policies and ensure consistent interpretation and application across the division.
Maintain knowledge of relevant employment laws and compliance requirements, partnering with People Services leadership and Legal as needed to mitigate risk.
Facilitate training and development sessions to support leader capability and organizational growth.
Partner with leaders on offer development for new hires, promotions, and internal transfers.
Lead and support special projects throughout the year, ensuring timely and effective implementation.
Maintain a strong understanding of the division’s financial performance, long‑range plans, culture, and competitive landscape.
Provide day‑to‑day coaching and performance management support, including guidance on career development, feedback practices, and disciplinary actions.
Perform other duties as assigned to support the business and People Services function.

About you: (requirements)
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent desired
Minimum of 1-3 years of HR experience in a generalist or specialist capacity
Minimum 1 year experience working in a HR position with multiple sites preferred
Ability to travel up to 50% is required
Ability to use with ease the Microsoft suite of solutions
Workday experience a strong plus
Has knowledge and understanding of current state and federal laws in divisions they support
Must have leadership, analytical, interpersonal, communication, problem solving, and creative thinking skills
Effective facilitation skills
Engages proactively with the business
Has the ability to navigate reporting relationships – you will report into HR, but you will work very closely with the field operations
Takes initiative and displays a sense of urgency – is highly responsive to business needs and unexpected situations that emerge
