Description:The Department of Economics at the University of Notre Dame invites applications for an Endowed Chair at the rank of Full Professor (tenured) to begin in the Fall of 2026 whose research program will support the mission of the university's Poverty Initiative. Duties include research, teaching, and service.
Qualifications: Candidates should have a record of research excellence with a strong emphasis on issues related to poverty, a proven capacity for leadership, evidence of superlative teaching at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and a capacity to support and shape exciting new university programs. We especially seek candidates whose work has strong synergies with existing faculty research and initiatives across campus. A PhD in Economics is required.
This appointment is contingent upon the successful completion of a background check. Applicants will be asked to identify all felony convictions and/or pending felony charges. Felony convictions do not automatically bar an individual from employment. Each case will be examined separately to determine the appropriateness of employment in the particular position.
