Job Description
Cybersecurity Threat Analyst – Active Secret or Top Secret Clearance - ONSITE
General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking an experienced cybersecurity analyst to join our team in Norwalk, CA, working with partners from local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies. The selected individual will serve at a client site conducting cybersecurity vulnerability testing, system evaluation and documentation. They will often work independently and at times collaboratively with the client Systems Manager to prevent, respond, mitigate and recover from cyber incidents.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The essential duties and tasks of the Cybersecurity Analyst assigned to this program include but are not limited to:
Review cybersecurity indicators against normal operational security processes and provide notification, response or escalation
Serve as a data subject matter expert on cybersecurity systems, during cyber incident response and provide technical assistance during daily operations
Assist in incident coordination through an understanding of network security system design tools, methods and techniques
Support continuous monitoring operations by managed services and automated control testing, enhancing audit efficiency and reducing manual workloads
Create and update recovery activities including testing and validation for restoration for both on premise and cloud enterprises
Communicate trending security risks and countermeasures
Conduct risk assessments, control testing, and vulnerability analysis to identify gaps and support continuous improvement initiatives
Promote acceptance of security technologies within the organization, balancing business goals, security controls and customer usability
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create incident response playbooks and perform tabletop exercises to test readiness.
Provide cybersecurity awareness training programs improving employee security posture
Convey technical security concepts to non-technical audiences within management to ensure alignment between technical controls and business objectives
Perform other duties related to cyber security as directed by client leadership
QUALIFICATIONS
Engineering, Information Technology, Information Management, or a related field
A minimum of 2 years of experience in cybersecurity or a related field
Desired: ITIL or Security+ Certification
Knowledge of applying network protocols and troubleshooting enterprise firewalls
Demonstrate working knowledge of intrusion detection and prevention systems, auditing and scanning systems, VPN, and remote access systems
Ability to identify, assess and mitigate information security risks; analyze and respond effectively to cybersecurity incidents; and apply sound judgement in prioritizing and implementing remediation strategies
Strong ability to use cybersecurity tools and technologies for monitoring, threat detection and vulnerability management
High degree of intrapersonal initiative requiring sound judgment with minimal supervision and guidance
An active Secret security clearance; Top Secret eligible
