USPS is seeking a Senior Architect/Analyst to be responsible for designing, evaluating, and optimizing enterprise systems, applications, and business processes. This role serves as a strategic partner to both technical teams and business stakeholders, ensuring that solutions are scalable, secure, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Senior Architect/Analyst provides leadership in architecture design, systems analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives.

You will play a crucial role in optimizing the business functions at USPS. We are seeking a Senior Architect/Analyst to join our team. This candidate will play a critical role in developing enterprise architecture frameworks, designing scalable applications, evaluating emerging technologies, and providing technical guidance.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain enterprise architecture frameworks, standards, and blueprints
Design scalable, secure, and efficient IT systems and applications
Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend adoption strategies
Conduct requirements analysis and translate business needs into technical specifications
Perform gap assessments and identify opportunities for improvement
Provide risk analysis and mitigation strategies for proposed solutions
Collaborate with developers, engineers, and project managers to ensure designs are implemented correctly
Provide technical guidance during system integration and deployment
Review code, configurations, and system designs for adherence to standards
Act as a liaison between business units and technical teams
Present architectural solutions and analysis findings to senior leadership
Facilitate workshops and discussions to gather input and drive consensus
Ensure solutions meet security, regulatory, and performance standards
Maintain documentation of architecture decisions and processes
Support audits and compliance reviews with technical evidence
Monitor system performance and recommend enhancements
Lead post implementation reviews to capture lessons learned
Mentor junior architects and analysts to build organizational capability
Modifying/migrating existing legacy systems using TDD approaches
USPS Business Processes: Acquire comprehensive knowledge of USPS system environments and associated business processes.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills for collaboration across disciplines.
WHAT YOULL NEED TO SUCCEED Bring your expertise and drive for innovation to GDIT. The Senior Architect/Analyst must have: Education:
Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a relevant field from an accredited College/University is preferred.
Required Technical Skills and Expertise:
8+ years of experience in systems architecture, analysis, or IT leadership roles
Strong knowledge of enterprise architecture frameworks
Proficiency in cloud platforms (Azure, preferred) and modern IT infrastructure
Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
Experience with systems analysis, modelling, and design tools
Familiarity with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and IT governance
Experience with designing and implementing enterprise level solutions
Knowledge/experience with Agile Methodologies
Knowledge/experience of SDLC practices
Solutions Development Framework (Docker, Jenkins, GitLab)
Knowledge of Postgres DB
Familiar with several unit test tools/frameworks in support of TDD
Experience using Version One or other agile based work management tools
Security Clearance Level:
Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance and successfully pass a thorough Government background screening process requiring the completion of detailed forms and fingerprinting
This position has a U.S. residency requirement.The USPS security clearance process requires the selected candidate to have resided in the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for the last five years as follows:U.S. Citizens cannot have left the U.S. (including U.S. Territories) for longer than 6 months consecutively in the last 3 years (unless they meet certain exceptions).
