Theatre Associate II - Part Time
<div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active fr-view" style="margin:2px"> <dl> <dt><h2>Class Description</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><p style="margin: 0">The Scene Shop staff are responsible for assisting the Technical Directors, designers, and staff in the completion of productions and shop activities including but not limited to: scenic construction, theatrical scenic maintenance, theatrical lighting and equipment maintenance, set-up and breakdown, and the efficient operation of College Theatre performances.</p></dd> <dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt> <dd><p><span style="color: inherit;">Bachelor's degree and one year direct relevant experience in technical theater or related fields (construction, events/AV, film and television) -or- an Associate's degree with three years of similar experience. Professional training in a specialized theatrical skill preferred or completion of Stagecraft class is required. Able to work during peak periods including weekends and evenings and fill in for absences as needed.</span><br><br><span style="color: inherit;"><strong>Positions are located on the Catonsville and Essex campuses</strong></span></p></dd> <dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><ol style="margin-left: -0.25in; margin-bottom: 3pt"><li><span style="color: inherit">Assist with the building of sets including carpentry: measuring, cutting, construction, and use of power tools. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Welding under supervision. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Hanging, cabling, focusing of lights. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Setup and operation of sound system including soundboard, mics, amps, speaker. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Designing and constructing props. </span></li><li><span style="color: inherit">Serve as a technician or crew for events in the facility</span>.</li></ol><p style="margin: 0"><br></p></dd> </dl>
