Interior Design Assistant - Part Time
<div id="details-info" class="tab-pane active fr-view" style="margin:2px"> <dl> <dt><h2>Class Description</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><p style="margin: 0">The purpose of this class is to assist the Interior Design Coordinator in the maintenance of interior design spaces, maintaining material resources library, and with the preparation of course materials.</p></dd> <dt><h2>Minimum Requirements</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">1. High school diploma/GED and one year of experience in a position assisting customers required or actively pursuing a degree in an art-related field. </p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">2. One year experience in Interior Design, Architecture or related field is preferred.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">3. A.A.S. or A.A. in interior design, architecture, or related degree is preferred.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">4. Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record containing five or less moving violation points on the driving record and the ability to travel between the Catonsville, Dundalk and Essex campuses.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">5. The ability to lift 50 pounds from floor to chest height.</p><p style="margin: 0 0 0 0.25in;">6. Daytime availability with flexible hours.</p><br><strong>Please apply by the best consideration date of 02/27/2026</strong></dd> <dt><h2>Class Specific Essential Duties</h2></dt> <dd><p></p><ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Maintain Interior Design Resource Material Library and Interior Design Studio spaces. <ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Categorize, organize, and store textile memos and interior finish material samples.</li><li>Receive new memos and material donations.</li><li>Maintain tools and supplies, such as paper cutters, drafting tools, cutting mats, scissors, markers, colored pencils, trace paper, sketch paper, bond paper, vellum paper, hand tools, etc.</li><li>Perform general cleaning of interior design studio, classroom, workspaces, and material library.</li></ol></li><li>Perform user maintenance for equipment in interior design spaces.<ol style="margin-bottom: 3pt"><li>Perform user maintenance for interior design printers and plotters. Load paper, change paper types, replace ink cartridges, assist faculty with printing issues. </li><li>Perform user maintenance for drafting light boxes. Ensure light boxes are recharged after each use.</li><li>Change bulbs and perform user maintenance for the light booth. </li></ol></li><li>Tutor interior design students by appointment and through Interior Design Open Studio. </li><li>Assist faculty by performing administrative tasks, preparing class materials as instructed, printing class materials, etc.</li><li>Create handouts or informational flyers as instructed.</li></ol></dd> </dl>
