At Leica Biosystems in Vista, CA, we engineer and manufacture Digital pathology scanners, which are high precision and automated electro-mechanical instruments for high resolution scanning of pathological samples. Our vision is to advance cancer diagnostics and improve lives.
The Senior Engineer,AISoftwareyouwill play a key role in thesoftwaredevelopment, integration, releasingand performance of AI-driven digital pathology solutions. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams including Deep Learning scientists, software developers, andproduct teamsto design and implement robustdevelopmentstrategies. This role emphasizescode development, bug fixing, unit and system testing,integration, andreleasingin a regulated environment. You will act as a resource for less experienced colleagues and may lead small projects with manageable risks and resource requirements.
You will report to the Manager, Software Development, and will be based onsite, in Vista, CA.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
Develop/improve features for our AI-based software solutions.
Build, develop, and release AI based software systems using Go, JavaScript/Typescript, SQL, AWS, HTML/CSS, Dockerin a Linux/Windows environment.
Collaborate withmanagement,software developers, AI developers, 3rd party developersand product teamtodefinesoftwarerequirements.
Build, develop, andreleaseAI based systems usingGo, JavaScript/Typescript, SQL, AWS, HTML/CSS, Dockerin a Linux/Windowsenvironment.
Supportthe field to troubleshootcomplex issues across hardware and softwarelayers, andcontribute to the ongoing improvement ofourprocesses and tools.
The essential requirements of the job include:
Bachelors degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Currentsoftwaredevelopmentexperience withGo or C#, JavaScript/Typescript, SQL, AWS, HTML/CSS, Dockerin a Linux environment.
4+ years of experienceofsoftwaredevelopmentin an Agile environment.
Experience with rigorous discipline around check-in, codereviewand source control (i.e.GitHub, Bitbucket, SVN, Perforce).
Proficiencyin scripting languages such as Python, R, PowerShell, or JavaScript.
It would be a plus if you alsopossesspreviousexperience:
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), containerization (Docker), and orchestration tools (Kubernetes), along with familiarity with enterprise IT infrastructure including servers and lab automation systems.
Strong understanding of medical device regulations, design controlprocesses, andcybersecurity standards and best practices.
Experience with AI/ML technologies and digital pathology workflows, supporting innovation in healthcare and diagnostics.

The salary range for this role is $120k - $135kThisis the range that wein good faith believeis the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may bemodifiedin the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay. #L1-WT1
