About the Role
The Senior Legal Assistant will provide administrativeand corporate governance support as theprimaryfocus of the role, along with legal andoperationalassistanceto a dynamicteamof legal professionals in New York.Working alongside a team dedicated to delivering expert advice to the U.S. market, thepositionplays an importantpart inadvancingSpringer Nature's mission and protecting its businesses and reputationglobally.
Responsibilities
Administrative and Corporate Governance Responsibilities (Core Focus)
Manage calendars, schedules, and travel arrangements, including visa applications and expense processing
Organize meetings and conference calls; prepare related documents and presentations
Maintain physical and electronic files and manage departmental office supplies
Process expenses and handle general clerical duties such as photocopying, mailing, and filing
Prepare advanced Microsoft PowerPoint presentations and Excel spreadsheets
Manage corporate secretarial functions for U.S. entities, includingmaintainingcorporate books and records, preparing minutes and consents, officers' certificates, and coordinating required state filings with outside counsel
Monitor alerts from corporate compliance services to help respond to government filing requirements and legal notifications
Assist with KYC and other informational requests
AdditionalLegal and OperationalSupport Responsibilities
Provide administrative support to the U.S. legal team, including assisting with contract management, project support, and maintenance of physical and electronic files
Attend, keep minutes, andassistwith the preparation of agendas for certain meetings involving major projects
Review all incoming subpoenas, complaints, and lawsuits in the U.S. and coordinate responses withappropriate membersof the legal team
Assistattorneys with litigation-related tasks such as document production
Assistwith the creation of intercompany agreements, including the preparation of schedules and exhibits
Support due diligence efforts in M&A transactions
Assistwith legal research and analysis
Assistwith management of legal team databases and document management systems, including data entry and retrieval
Provide administrative support for trademarks
Maintainstandard form/model legal documentation and department training, and research materials
Review bankruptcy filing notificationsto the New York officeand delegate follow-up actions toappropriate attorneysorcentral services colleagues
Review physical mail and electronic communications sent to the New York legal department and delegate to theappropriate legalcolleague or stakeholder
Support risk management oversight for U.S. market with Head of Legal
Support learning and development administration, including the facilitation of GCO programs
Experience, Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor's degreerequired
Six or more years'previouslegal or high-level professional admin experience, preferably in an international company
Corporate governance experience or exposureisrequired;certification a plus
Familiarity with corporate law concepts and ability to support governance processesa plus
Strong organization skills and excellent time management
Excellent attention to detail, project management, anda high levelof accuracy
Collaborative team player
Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Suite;Workiva, Freshdesk, SharePoint,iManage, andXflowis a plus
Professional verbal and written communication skillswith the ability to communicate at all levels of the organization

US Annualized Base Salary Range: $85,000 - $100,000. The salary offer may vary based on work experience, education, skill level, and equity. The US salary range does not align with the salary ranges in other countries when converted to the currency of that country.
