As a Staff Accountant, you'll be stepping into a pivotal role that blends oversight of financial processes, account reconciliations, and process improvement, ensuring the financial well-being and operational success of our organization. Responsibilities:
* Manages daily and month-end accounting operations and accounting information systems including general ledger functions, accounts payable functions, accounting of fixed assets, and financial reporting.
* Ensures financial record systems are maintained in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and in compliance with State, Federal, and relevant regulations.
* Oversee the preparation and maintenance of financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
* Coordinate month-end and year-end closing processes, including preparing and reviewing journal entries.
* Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
* Manage the reconciliation of bank statements, credit card transactions, and other financial accounts.
* Develop and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.
* Collaborate with internal and external auditors during audits, providing necessary documentation and support.
* Prepare detailed financial reports and summaries for management review.
* Support budgeting and forecasting activities by providing relevant financial insights.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and internal policies.
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
* Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is a plus.
* Minimum of three years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting and analysis.
* Strong knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
* Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
* Experience in the healthcare industry is preferred but not required.
