For the first time in history, more than one in every 100 adults in America are in jail or prison. One in nine black men between the ages of 20 and 34 is behind bars. For black women in their mid to late 30s, the incarceration rate also has hit the one in 100 mark. When a loved one goes to prison, the children, wives, husbands, and family members serve time as well. Do you have a loved one in prison? You are not alone and you don't have to go through the "grief" alone either. This group was formed to support those dealing with incarcerated loved ones. Whether you are a wife, daughter, aunt, girlfriend or just friend, your story may encourage and uplift another sister. 5 New Posts |
