Oh My God! Where are the boys!!!! (2239 hits)

I thought I had it all planned out so well. I was even more excited than the kids about the upcoming party. I had the menu set, music, invites and booked Elmo for the entertainment. Oh my goodness, that was money I could have kept. My two year old would not get down off of his cousin's lap, my one year old hid behind someone almost the entire hour and my three year old danced, but would not dance too close to Elmo. Only a hand full of kids played along with the huge character, as he/she did magic tricks, sang songs, danced, etc. One little boy took it upon himself to spank Elmo on the tush. Oh my. The whole thing was quite a seen. Well, this all happened in the middle of July. My boys are still traumatized by the giant Elmo. Yesterday morning I found them sleeping in their closet. I got up, went to their room to check on them and they were not there; their beds were completely empty (blankets and all). I ran back to the kitchen to see if somehow I missed them on the way to their room. Maybe they were sitting at the table eating their breakfast. After all, dad was already up. As I approached the kitchen, here comes dad walking in off the deck. I stood there in shock. He looked at me, waiting for me to speak. I finally manage to yell out, "where are the boys?" With a slight grin he replied, "they are in the closet." In the closet, I did not get it at first. He said once again, "they are in the closet, then added-asleep." I could do nothing but laugh. They were in their closet with their blankets and all, sound asleep, with the door closed. I asked my husband if he was sure that they were okay. He said yes. Later that day, when I got home from work, I talked to the boys. I asked them why were they asleep in the closer. Their response, "Elmo, Elmo big mommy, big Elmo, scared mommy. Like I said, my children were traumatized. I must admit, Elmo was very very tall. He (she in this case) must have looked like a giant to them. Elmo was taller than every adult at the party. I guess I will wait to take them to Disney World. It is going to take years for them to get over this experience. God bless their little innocent hearts.
