The history of a famous dog to live in the White House was named Checkers.. Although the future President received the dog as a gift he named him Checkers which later on became a very famous dog to reside in the White House.. The height of President Nixon career was influenced by his popular speech in 1952 as he was selected to run as Vice President to Dwight D. Eisenshower.
