National Freedom day was proclaimed as a national day by President Harry Truman on June 30, 1048. It was started by a former salve name Richard Robert Wright which designated it's date as February 01 and also the same day in which Abraham Lincoln gave his speech establishing the 13 Amendment. So today has more than one reason to CELEBRATE!
