Water shortages are not uncommon in the San Fernando Valley. A project is underway to save storage for water was launched on Monday, August 22, 2016. The Tujunga Spreading Grounds broke new ground to a project that will reserve the precious water right underground. The 150 acre tract will be supplied with pipelines and aqua filters that will aid as its water supply in a drought filled city. The project is said to cost around 29 million dollars. Hopes will be the new water storage will hold the storm waters from nearby mountains for future usage and will be used when water is in short supply. Many officials of the project are confident in the new water storage bank.
