A great wall of love was built by the people of Philadelphia as a protest to block hate anti-LGBT hate groups during the Democratic National Convention last week. The Westboro Church and its members decided to put aside their differences by building a "Great Wall of Love" along the protest site areas. People who joined carried signs displaying love and not hating. The church also has had controversial subjects regarding homophobic issues was denoted as a "hate group" by the Southern Poverty Law. However, this protest displayed love went over well without any violence during the visit of the DNC. It helped also in the message of the city's icon being Philadelphia the City of Brotherly Love.
