Your World Religious News Day 28 May 2016 Old City Jerusalem
Three groups of Christians are at work to give the restoration of the believed site of the tomb where Jesus Christ was buried and arose. The site of the Christendom: Calvary/Golgotha has suffered many damages over the centuries and restoring the highly visited site will benefit a longer extended of history and belief.
Over the many years the building suffered a fire in 614, in 766 an earthquake caused damages, in 966 a riot burned the building again and in 1009 was an order to burn down all churches which nearly destroyed the construction totally, but it was restored in 1009. Now this recent restoration is needed due to erosion and aging. The Three groups also with other Christians and Secular groups are urging a overhaul to upstage the place. The cost of the restoration is aiming at 3.4 million dollars which is being funded by donations and the three groups supporting the restore. King Abdullah of Jordan has also donated an undisclosed amount of money for the project. Much of the delay in restorations was said to be due to constant disagreements and rivals between Christian groups.
Although the waiting may still be in need of patience most of the Three groups donating are eager to begin the process and restore the sepulcher.
