Several fires burned Orthodox Churches around the globe on Sunday, May 01, 2016. As groups of the Orthodox Christians discovered massive fires burned down churches as they celebrated Easter Sunday. The fires also sparked the burning of the Serbian St. Sava Orthodox Cathedral on West Street in New York on Easter Sunday as well as three other churches including ones located in Australia and Russia. Many of the Orthodox Christians feel the attacks were deliberately set in protest to religion. Although the New York fire showed no works of mischief to arson, it's destruction hasn't ease the tension that there may be some kind of undercurrents to several churches burning on the same day as Orthodox Easter Sunday. Many followers believe it was a coordinated attack against four churches world wide. Opposition for the church burnings seemed to be supported by Crotian Nazi supporter Cardinal Aloysius Stepinac. Disturbing fires gripped Orthodox Christians with feelings of fear. Some of the burned churches have survived over centuries are now down in ashes.
