After the bill was approved by the Senate to making The Bible Tennessee's State Official Book, it was closed up by a veto from Tennessee's Governor Bill Halsam. Halsam who is a Christian, said he voted to veto the bill of the Bible because he feels and views the book as sacred. Halsam said .."it trivializes the Bible and breaches the constitutional freedom of religion....which I believe is sacred text." Facing pressure from opposing groups many felt Halsam was seeking a merit of approval. However, after the Senate had approved to have The Bible as the State of Tennessee's official book, they are getting prepared to overrule the veto to have it done making the governor's ruling decision void. According to a Tennessee poll, 62% are in favor of having The Bible as Tennessee's state official book. They are viewing from the book's history along with the economic and cultural standpoints.
