Day 14, July 2015
Memphis, TN

The severe, but brief storm clashed with high winds, lightning and rains clashed off the electric power in more than 28,000 homes into darkness. In addition, hundreds of trees crashed and debris toppled down in on Tuesday, July 14, 2015. One Memphis man described a big bolt of lightning saying…”We were all standing in the yard, and we just saw a big bolt of lightning come…’All of a sudden, “Pow! Pow! Pow!” it started shooting across there, and everybody started running.” After the storm, the power restoring process begin with 79 crews including some from out of town took shifts working around the clock. The storm did its damage, and the heat generated temperatures in the high 90’s causing many homes and business alike to cringe in sweat from the heat wave. ELDERLY WOMAN STAYED IN HER SEAT
WHILE THAT SAME THUNDERSTORM AROUND HER BEAT,
THOUGH SHE SUFFERED OF HER CONVICTION
SHE WAS A CANDIDATE TO EVICTION
July 14, 2015
Memphis, TN
Refusing to leave her possessions an 84-year Memphis woman sat in a chair out on the curbside guarding everything she owned after being evicted. Ms. V. Burns stayed through the thunderstorm and the heat never leaving her furniture, and clothing without watch. She wouldn’t leave the sizzling days temperatures to find a shelter and insisted she would stay. The woman who lived with her son in the Hickory Hill Apartments was evicted for not paying rent for several months. She stated to the news media that she and her son were planning on moving out before the eviction, but that was before she had a clash and became victim of a robber that took all her money. She described that she was a pushed down to the ground at a bus stop by a robber about a week before who snatched and grabbed her purse containing all her money. Memphians weren’t heartless as many gave her donations to help assist her in finding housing and again a cool safe place.
Zonkers! She was clashed out, crashed into her chair and survived…
Why did she stay?
“I know it don’t look like its much, but it’s mine and I don’t want anybody to take it.” Burns explained.
Now, here we go again… This story is reading us into taking a ride!
GETTING YOUR MEDICINE CAN BE RISKY
IF YOU HAVE A PRECRIPTION BAG
YOU MIGHT WIND UP BEING CAR DRAGGED!
July 16, 2015
Memphis, TN
It’s not uncommon that seniors are often targeted by thieves, but in areas where crime is known to be lower is a clash shocker. A man who targeted a woman whom just picked up her prescription medicine from a drug store location on Perkins Rd. at Summer Avenue was crashed by a robber who grabbed her bag taking her with him to his vehicle. The woman was dragged a few inches holding her bag as he sped off. The incident was recorded on the parking lot camera. The victim was not seriously injured. Many of the neighborhood store users wondered where was the security guard? Others expressed concern that more protection should be provided to help watch out for thieves. The driver of the car suspect was last seen driving away in a Mercedes missing one rim cover.
“She didn’t wanNA to ride in YO' Mercedes Boy!”
Wow! Picking up your prescriptions just became health risk…Du…ugh!!
