News of former DC Mayor Marion Barry's death sadden the hearts of many across the the country and in Washington, DC. Barry was 78 years old. Barry departed his life on Sunday, November 23, 2014. The Mayor's history of service had good times and bad with drug and personal problems. He is remembered for his stern services of assisting poor.

Barry was born March 06, 1936 in Itta Bena, Mississippi but was raised in Memphis, Tennessee. He attended Lemoyne Owen College
and received a Master's Degree from Fisk University in Nashville, TN.
