This international day of October 11, 2013 is part of the United Nations Tribute which establishes recognition specifically to the education and growth of girls. This year it elevated it's recognition in countries and cities world wide. Events were in full operation devoting encouragement to girls in the United Nations, and additionally girls all over the world in every nation. The International Day of the Girl began in 2011 by the United Nations and has powerfully shown growth in it's two years of celebrating. Now over millions of activists and contributors enact in the recognition of girls. One great supporter has given an superior effort to the cause of girl's education and education in general is Malala Yousafzai whom was dangerous wounded by voicing the need for girls to be education in her native home country Pakistan. This year, Malala has been nominated to receive a Nobel Peace Prize Award. If she is selected she will make history by being its youngest person to receive the reward. Malala is 16 years old.
With continual promotion of education for girls whom have a more difficult encounters in achieving reading and basic skills of schools and education this international day has began breaking barriers for girls to expand and grow in many less fortunate countries and poor regions where many go girls and children are without educational materials and or schools. Many associated businesses and charitable organizations world wide also participated in spreading the largest recognition of years of neglected girls to become equal in education and life goals for a better life. This year's theme was "Innovating for Girls Education."
