Legendary MC Lyte to Headline Florida A&M University’s Halftime Show (2116 hits)

Florida A&M University continues to entertain Rattler football fans with an entertainment lineup that includes a halftime show and DJ battles as part of its enhanced football experience for the 2012 season. Hip Hop legend MC Lyte has been confirmed to be the halftime entertainment for the third home game of the season against South Carolina State University on October 20. For the DJ battles, FAMU alumnus Vince Adams will battle it out on the turntables with local DJs Loosekid & Dawkness to keep fans entertained and energetic. The game is also the Prince Hall Shriner's Foundation Diabetes Classic and Parents’ Weekend.

“By now, fans and supporters of FAMU have noticed that the Athletics program has an exciting halftime production lineup for the entire 2012 football season,” shares Derek Horne, FAMU athletics director. “We are committed to our new team energy and theme and look forward to having fans enjoy the entire football experience and the on field performance from our players.”

This season, the football program takes on a brand new energy with a new theme – “Our Team, Our Time: Respect the Game” and game attendance has been consistent for each of the home games. Major recording artist FUTURE was the featured halftime entertainment for the home opener on September 15 and Rickards High School and FAMU DRS High School marching bands entertained fans for the second home game on October 13 against Savannah State University.

Opponents for this year’s home games include Hampton University on September 15, Savannah State University on October 13, South Carolina State University on October 20, and the homecoming game celebrating FAMU’s 125th anniversary on November 10 against North Carolina Central University.
