Did You Know That Dieting CAUSES Weight Gain & Obesity? (576 hits)

Still dieting for weight loss?

Yes... Dieting CAUSES weight gain & obesity!

Any time you engage in any form of dieting (i.e. prepackaged meals, meal replacements, pills, supplements, etc.) you lose muscle. Muscle is extremely metabolically active; it is the furnace that burns excess calories. Lose muscle, and you’ll have less of an ability to burn calories, at rest and during exercise.

Protein is the major component of muscle. When you diet, your body turns to this protein as an energy source, thereby reducing your muscle mass as well as your ability to burn calories. As such, you must continue to decrease the amount of calories you consume in order to avoid weight gain in the future.
