Why Everyone Should Love Pineapples (481 hits)

It is hard to believe that something as delicious as fresh pineapple can be so good for you. Besides being very high in vitamin C and potassium, pineapple contains an enzyme called bromelain. Bromelain aids in the digestion of protein, which is especially beneficial if you consume meat and dairy products on a regular basis. It is also effective in reducing swelling and inflammation associated with injury or arthritis. You can reap the benefits of pineapple by consuming it in whole or juiced form. However, pineapple has quite a high sugar content in the form of fructose (fruit sugar) so you should limit your intake to no more than 1-cup of diced pineapple or 4 oz. of pineapple juice a day.
