Health Tip: Diabetes & Exercise (454 hits)

Health Tip:

If you have diabetes there is no reason why you can't engage in regular exercise at any time so long as you follow certain precautions. Such precautions include:

1. Wearing proper footwear
2. Drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated
3. Monitoring your blood glucose levels regularly
4. Wearing a medical ID bracelet or some other form of ID
5. Not injecting insulin near your exercising muscles
6. Exercising with a partner whenever possible
7. Exercising when your insulin is not peaking

Make sure you get clearance from your physician before starting an exercise program.
