The world marveled to see the planet Venus pass in the transit across the sun. Scientists and astronomers considered this a rare and significant planetary spectacle. The fantastic voyage is one of a rare events which only occurs one in persons lifetime with many never witnessning such a extraordinary happening. The planet transit for 2012 took a period of 6 hours and 40 minutes. Most those who viewed the wondrous event were in areas of North and Central America where the transit could be seen from beginning to ending. Hawaii, Alaska, eastern Austria and eastern Asia including Japan, North and South Korea and eastern China saw the entire transit during the rising of the sun. Others found ways to view the event with footage from telescopes from NASA observatories roughly seen by 90,000 viewers over the whole 6 hours.
Watching the small dot go across the sun was the seventh one recorded since German astronomer Johannes Kepler first saw it in the 17th century. Although most found the solar esclipse more inviting to their excitement, prominment science lovers were excited to see the Venus transit as a sure marvel.
