I think you're right. I was able to see that a while back. He's a nice guy who I believe truly had good intentions that went a bit off the map.
Bobby was really huge when he went solo from New Edition... he was the originator of "New Jack Swing" Era. He didn't count the cost of marrying a big star entertainer like Whitney. His career kind of unfolded from that point on so I guess 'dude' got depressed and started drugs and alcohol.
You should check out some of his early stuff... Tender Roni, It's My Perogative, Humping Around, Don't Be Cruel, Every Little Step, and Girl Next Door. They were hot back in the day!
