Hundreds of landmarks across the globe will partake in a symbolic observance of Earth Hour will be expected to turn off their lights. Millions all over the globe from Egypt Tahir's Square to Washington D.C.'s National Cathedral. All in the honor of Earth Hour. The event will take place tonight, March 31, 2012 beginning from 8:30 to 9:30 local times. During which also people are encouraged to also honor Earth Hour and shut off all lights for 60 minutes.
Landmarks such as London's Big Ben, The Great Wall of China and Tokyo Tower will go dark.
What's all this about?
Earth Hour Co-founder Todd Sampson said that it's a light switch off to save the planet. The Earth Hour concept begin in Australia in 2007 when the World Wildlife Fund inspired residents to show their commintment to the Earth. The voice in the message is to come together to make a better future for our planet. In the United States five state are particpating in the event, Illinois, Maine, Minnesota, Montana and New Hampshire along with 60, or more cities and towns with colleges, businessness and earth saving organizations. Working to save the planet and the awareness of the Earth's survival will inspire others to participate in the saving of our planet.

Your son's school has smart teachers...Many didn't know any thing about Earth Hour. Oh, Jen Earth Day is April 22, 2012... Oh well.. you can still turn your lights out one hour before you go to bed? I guess..LOL!
